Unlikely that Obama will pardon Private Manning Chelsea Manning, formerly known as Bradley Manning, was sentenced to 35 years in prison on August 21, 2013. Now, Pvt. Manning and his attorney David Coombs are moving for a pardon from President Obama. Manning was convicted on 20 of 22 charges, 6 of which were charges under the Espionage Act.
